Ian standing atop Moel Mile End litter pick and bin bag in hand

It is our regular monthly litter pick this Sunday from 10-12. I hope you can join us for what will be our last litter pick of 2021. We meet by the Art Pavilion at 10am with all kit provided.

The weather has been cold of late, so wrap up warm. But today (Friday) the park was bathed in wonderful light, with a freshness in the air and with blue skies. Let’s hope Sunday is the same!

Afterwards one or two of us will wander over to the Coffee Room for what will be my first mince pie of the season. Apparently the Coffee Room ones are particularly yummy this year.

You may recognise Iain Marshall in the photo above? He is often seen wandering around the park of a weekday lunchtime with his litter picker and bin bag in hand. There is an interesting article in the Roman Road Slice exploring why he does it and what treats he has discovered en route. And yes – he is as tall as portrayed in Tabitha Stapely’s wonderful photo.

Take a look at Iain’s Twitter and Instagram accounts where his wit is a combination of puns and dad jokes, and tempered with some insightful environmental knowledge.

COVID Precautions for Sunday

  • Please don’t come if you have cold/flu-like symptoms (sorry 😒)
  • If you can, please do a LFT before coming
  • Masks are optional (it will keep your face warm though!)
  • We are outdoors and will be spaced out too, which dramatically reduces any risk
