The Friends host a litter-picking session on the second Sunday of every month, apart from November where we litter pick on the Saturday so as to not clash with November’s Remembrance Sunday service. Our first litter pick of 2024 is on Sunday 14th January, We meet up by the Art Pavilion at 10am for a short Health & Safety briefing, kit up and then head off for around two hours.

We go out whatever the weather. In fact, the changes in the seasons are part of the pull. Litter-picking in winter can feel like you are out in the countryside with the elements making themselves known to all your senses.

We supply gloves, litter picks, sacks, litter hoops and high viz jackets. All you have to do is wear suitable clothing and bring a healthy dose of enthusiasm.

Why not give it a go this January? We head for a coffee and cake afterwards at The Coffee Room (and wash our hands of course!).
