This Sunday is our March litter pick in Mile End Park. Why not not pop along and join us? You don’t have to stay the whole two hours, but if you do then I can promise a reward of cake and light refreshments.

This month we are targeting the southern part of the park – meeting by the Art Pavilion at 10am to collect litter kit and have a short Health and Safety briefing before heading south via Chris’ Wood (where we planted 4,500bulbs in November), over the Green Bridge and down towards the Ragged School Museum before heading back up to for cakes and coffee at The Coffee Room.

The snowdrops in Chris’ Wood are still holding on to their flowers (just), the daffodils are in bloom and sweet violets (Viola odorata) are starting to flower too. The two swans who usually reside in the Art Pond seem to have disappeared, so we’ll keep an eye out for them as this is when they are usually getting their nest ready.

Time: 10-12 noon
Location: Meet by the Art Pavilion (behind the Grove Road Texaco garage)
All equipment provided
Wear sturdy footwear and clothes appropriate to the weather. More info: info@fomep.org.uk
