It is our second litter-pick of 2023 this Sunday from 10-12. It will be good to see our regulars, and new faces are always welcome too. We provide litter pickers, gloves, refuse bags and litter hoops.
This month we are heading NORTH, starting by heading up towards Bow Wharf on the Grove Road side of the park, and then come back down the west side of the park by the canal, finishing up with a sweep around the Art Pavilion and Chris’ Wood to admire the emerging Spring bulbs which we have planted over the last few seasons.
The snowdrops in Chris’ Wood have multiplied quite nicely compared to last year and they are probably in their prime at the moment. By the Eco Pavilion we might get lucky and spot the Kingfisher.
The park’s contractors have been very busy cutting back brambles on “Mount Mile End”, around the Art Pavilion and around the Eco ponds. We’ll be looking for volunteers soon to manually dig out the bramble roots before planting bulbs and plants to encourage butterflies and other pollinators. If you would like to pitch in then please get in touch
Afterwards most of us will pop to The Coffee Room for a coffee, some cake and a chat.
Location: Meet by the Art Pavilion
Time: 10-12
What to wear: Keep an eye on the forecast, but in any sturdy boots/trainers are always worth wearing.
