This Sunday is our monthly litter-picking session in the park. We meet at 10am by the Art Pavilion, get kitted up with gloves, litter picks, bags and hoops and then meander around the park. We usually end around midday and then head to the Coffee Room for a free coffee and nibbles.

We do make a difference and typically fill around two sacks each. The council contractors seem to stick to the paths and picnic areas, so whilst we do that too, we also litter pick in the more secluded areas of the park.

Some enjoy a good natter as we go around, whilst others just enjoy the relative peace of the park. There’s always some nature to be spotted and “Instagrammed“. This month the snowdrops we planted back in October are starting to fade, but some of our other bulbs are poking through. Then there are the Art Lake swans who have already started to build this year’s nest.
